15.4: By 2030, ensure the conservation of mountain ecosystems, including their biodiversity, in order to enhance their capacity to provide benefits that are essential for sustainable development
15.5: Take urgent and significant action to reduce the degradation of natural habitats, halt the loss of biodiversity and, by 2020, protect and prevent the extinction of threatened species
1: Development, finalization and promulgation of new protected area legislation.
2.1: By 2022, the rate of loss and degradation of natural habitats outside protected areas serving as ecological corridors or containing key biodiversity areas or providing important ecosystem services is minimized through integrated land use planning.

By 2020 an effective monitoring protocol for critical habitats, mainly forests, mangroves and coral reefs has been implemented to assist in reducing degradation and fragmentation and measures developed and undertaken to reduce the rate of loss by 10%.
By 2020, at least 17% of terrestrial and inland water, and 10% of coastal and marine areas, especially areas of particular importance for biodiversity and ecosystem services, are managed consistent with approved plans.
By 2020, at least one marine and one additional terrestrial area will be formally declared and appropriate management plans are operationalized.
By 2020, implement protection measures for threatened species including the racer snake, marine turtles, Redonda Dwarf Gecko, Redonda Ground Lizard threatened plants, and threatened birds.
